Here we have and interesting pistol made in London with one use in mind, stopping a grown man in a single shot.
These manstopper pistols were made around the 1830’s largely as military pistols for people who wanted to have a large powerful gun that could save their life in a close combat situation, the barrels are always short as these were not expected to be used at range but rather to cause intense trauma to someone within melee distance.
This pistol is of high quality with beautiful balance, finish and fittings with arabesque designs down the lockplate and London engraved on the top of the barrel.
~ Dimensions ~
The pistol is 9.5 inches (24 cm) long.
The barrel is 4 inches (10 cm) long.
The pistol weighs 620g.
~ Condition ~
There is some minor pitting to the metal work.
~ Postage ~
UK postage is £20, international at cost and it can be viewed in our shop.
