    ~ A cased quiver of 6 African bushmans poison arrows in a case owned by Prince Lobingulas ~


    He was the last king of the Matabele tribe from Zimbabwe and was deposed of by the British South African company in 1893. The quiver is made from cow hide, sinew and bark and is strong in its construction.

    An ancient dealer card with the lot states..

    'These poisoned arrows taken from Prince Lobingulas body belt by Captain Warner of Langton Hall, Market Harborough during the Bevin Expedition. Given to me by him 1893'.

    The quiver measures 24 inches (61cm), the lot weighs 580g.
