~ Circa 1760/70 Flintlock Pistol By Archer ~

A nice quality flintlock pistol manufactured by Archer dating to 1760/70.

The pistol bears on its lock plate, the “Archer” manufacturers mark.

The barrel bears two Georgian inspector’s marks.

The lock plate is of a very good quality suggesting that this was an officer’s piece.

The barrel, trigger guard and butt plate are made of brass.

The brass-work has floral style engraved decoration in parts.

The wooden frame is very fine and well polished.

The piece comes with its original ramrod, held in place by 2 brass fittings.

The piece is a .60 calibre.

The barrel is 8 ¼ inches long and the overall length of the piece is 14 inches (35.5 cm).

It weighs 720 g.

~ Condition ~

The piece is in good condition for its age.

The brass has age ware, but remains in good condition.

The barrel remains clean inside, free of damage.
