Here we have a good example of a late pattern British Baker rifle bayonet with its original brass and leather scabbard. The scabbards are even more rare then the bayonets themselves.
The baker rifle bayonet was manufactured as a sword bayonet since the light infantry regiments were more likely to get into melee combat.
This sword bayonet was manufactured earlier on in the life of the Baker rifle, the proof being the slightly more rounded and solid guard.
This baker rifle sword bayonet has a brass guard and a steel blade.
The bayonet is unmarked.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade is 22 ½ (57 cm) long.
The bayonet is 27 (69 cm) long.
The bayonet weighs 1.09Kg.
~ Condition ~
The bayonet is in a good condition for its age.
There is some very minor pitting to the blade.
The scabbard is worn and partially unstitched but it is still in one piece.
~ Postage ~
UK postage is £25, international at cost and it can be viewed in our shop.
