On Auction : Colt 1851, signed Fagard, a gunsmith affiliated with Colt; he sold Colts assembled in Belgium, made with spare parts produced by Colt, complete revolvers imported from the USA, and revolvers manufactured in his factories in Liège. Pictures of the reference book listing for this type of weapon are attached, showing the two signatures: ‘PJ Fagard’ on the butt of the revolver, and ‘PJF’, which appears on the bullet mould and the rod holder. The revolver is in shooting condition, patinated, with no corrosion, it has retained almost all of the silver veneer on the stock, which is very rare. The ‘patented Colt’ marking is almost worn away, but still visible (the result of a long-ago clumsy and brutal cleaning). The case is lined with red cotton fabric, with a gunpowder pear, bullet mould, rod holder, and a primer box made of horn and silver. The chimney key is a recent copy. The box locks with a key.
