The family of Colt Pocket Percussion Revolvers evolved from the iconic 1860 Army and 1851 Navy Revolvers and were produced between 1849 and 1872. This original U.S. Colt .31 Calibre Cap and Ball, 5 shot Pocket Model of 1849 Revolver made in Italy in the modern era under licence from Colt is in excellent condition. It has a brass trigger guard and grip frame, colour case hardened action and hammer. The pistol has the correct brass post fore sight, notched hammer rear sight & captive lever ram rod . It has an undamaged American Walnut grip. It has a 4 " two stage barrel (9 ¼” overall). The barrel is marked ‘Made In Italy Black Powder Ony’ and has Italian ‘PN’ inspection mark. The cylinder is marked 'Patent’ & has a crisp Indian Wars scene. Deactivated to UK specification in 2005 the pistol cocks and dry fires. The price includes deactivation certificate & UK delivery.
