The family of Colt Pocket Percussion Revolvers evolved from the iconic 1860 Army and 1851 Navy Revolvers and were produced between 1849 and 1872. This original U.S. Colt .31 Calibre Cap and Ball, 6 shot Pocket Model of 1849 Revolver is in very good condition with even patina throughout. It has a brass trigger guard and grip frame. The pistol has the correct brass bead fore sight and notched hammer rear sight. It has undamaged American Walnut grip. The left side of its frame is stamped 'Colts Patent' and the trigger guard ’31 Cal’. The top of the 4" octagonal barrel is correctly marked ' Address Col Saml Colt New York US America'. It has matching serial numbers '241341' on the frame, barrel, trigger guard and butt which dates its manufacture to between 1863 & 1864 during the American Civil War. The cylinder is numbered 41641 and has the correct engraved ‘Stage Coach hold Up Scene’ which is faint. The weapon's single action firing mechanism and captive steel ‘lever’ ram rod work as they should. The pistol comes with a period dark brown leather holster in which it was found. The surface of the leather has scuffs to be expected but all stitching is intact. The holster has a full flap cover with eyelet that fastens to a brass button on the body of the holster. The rear of the holster has a single riveted belt loop. The pistol fits the holster snugly. The price includes UK delivery.
