RARE, WW1 1918 Dated Imperial German Army Danzig 7.92×57mm Calibre Kar 98 Storm Troopers Rifle. *UK/EU DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED**D 1487 - D 1487

An excellent condition, Rare, 1918, dated, Mauser Kar 98 rifle. These short rifles were issued to German 'Storm Troopers' in WW1 for attacking and clearing trenches. The rifle measures 43 ½” overall. The breech is crisply stamped 'Crown Danzig 1918'. It is also marked 'Kar 98' designation. The weapon is serial number 4769. It has excellent original woodwork and is complete with steel butt plate. The fore stock has a fixed sling bar and the shoulder stock is slotted for sling anchor. There are Imperial German Inspection marks on the metal & wood. The rifle has an adjustable rear sight, winged fore sight and has the correct bayonet bar. Deactivated to UK/EU specification the weapon’s bolt and trigger move but the firing mechanism has been internally disconnected so it does not cock & dry fire and it is not capable of stripping.
