The barrel address "Witton and Daw") would date manufacture to between 1855-60 (Taylerson). Pryse and Cashmore patented this double-action lock and one piece frame and either manufactured these parts for Daw or supplied " in the white" for finishing at Daw's London premises (Taylerson)
It has a 6" barrel, barrel flat address is "Witton and Daw 57 Threadneedle St London". The serial number is 444, making it an early production example. It has a plain cylinder and scroll engraved open frame, sliding safety to the right hand side (thumb-piece missing). The chequered walnut grip has a rectangular white-metal escutcheon to the wrist, iron butt-cap with cap-box. Traces of original finish in sheltered areas.
