The M38 tank mounted 7.92mm heavy machine guns were configured with right or left sided cocking handles, this is a right handled one.
They were turret mounted in pairs in most Italian WW2 tanks and could also be configured to infantry use if removed from the tank.
These guns entered service in 1938 and was based on the Breda M37, fed from a 20 round box magazine.
