DEACTIVATED INERT. This is a MINT condition WW2 (1941 dated) German 15mm MK 151/15. (15x96) APT Armour Piercing Tracer aircraft cannon round complete with its original cardboard transit tube. The gun was developed by Mauser in 1940 fitted to various German aircraft during WW2 including the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The round has a brown lacquered steel cartridge case and is percussion primed with a brass primer held in with 3 stab crimps and a black annulus. The cartridge case is headstamped asr (HAK Hanseatisches-Kettenwerk GmbH, Hamburg-Langenhorn) bxe (Bochumer Verein fuer Guss-stahlfabrikation AG, Bochum) 31k 41 (1941 date) waffenampt 10. The armour piercing/tracer projectile retains all of its original black painted finish with a yellow tracer band. The projectile is stencilled in white round its circumference edq (Deutsche Waffen- u. Munitionsfabriken AG, Schlutup) 13 41(1941 date) tracer retaining most of its black finish and red tracer band. The copper driving band has a waffenampt stamp on its side. The projectile is sealed at the case mouth with a red coloured sealant. The round is fitted with a pressed steel cartridge link has the manufacturers code bhm. The round has its original 3 piece cardboard transit tube which has impressed on the top 1941 (date) and a makers monogram of CA. Both projectile and cartridge case have no cracks in the necks.
