DEACTIVATED INERT This a WW2 (1944 dated) German 13.2mm Hotchkiss (13.2 x 96) HE (High Explosive) Anti-Aircraft round. The guns were originally French before the start of WW2, and when captured, they were re issued with German ammunition. The guns were mounted on a tripod for ground defence or on a ship mount with one or two barrels. The gun was fed by a 30 round magazine. The lacquered steel cartridge case is percussion primed and retains much of its original brown lacquered finish. The iron driving banded high explosive projectile is stamped e 44 eet 1d waffenampt 23 and retains some of its original yellow finish. The lacquered AZ1532 brass coated steel nose fuse is stamped 1532 eds 42 86C waffenampt 61 . Both projectile and cartridge case have no cracks in the necks.
