    ~ Early 19th Century Whaling Harpoon ~

Here we have something very unique, a piece of maritime history. This is a whaling harpoon originally from Canada.

In the 18th century before oil was the mainstay of industry whale oil was constantly needed to keep the factories running and whaling boomed.

This is a very standard design for a European or North American harpoon from whalings heyday.

    ~ Dimensions ~

The harpoon is 62 inches long.

    The harpoon weighs 1.7 Kg.

    ~ Condition ~

The harpoon is in good condition for its age, the wood has some cosmetic damage but is free from damage and rot.

There is surface rust to the iron or steel head.

    ~ Postage ~

UK postage is £12 or it can be collected from our shop.
