Original WW2 Nazi German Eickhorn Solingen, Pattern Nr 1714 ‘Freiherr Von Stein’ With Wehrmacht Pattern Nazi National Emblem, Army Officer's Dress Sword With Officer’s Bullion Cord & Portepee & Scabbard. - 14704

This is a very good original WW2 period Nazi German Eickhorn, Solingen, German Army Officer's Sword. The sword is the ‘Freiherr Von Stein’ Nr 1714 pattern With Wehrmacht Pattern Nazi National Emblem ‘Eagle with Swastika’ on the langet and a plain shield on the reverse langet (see page 79 of the book Swords Of Germany By Angolia). It has a flat knuckle bow and wire bound grip. The knuckle bow, hilt back strap and pommel are adorned with gilt oak leaf decoration. The sword measures 37 ¾” overall and the ricasso of its 32 ½” single edged, elegantly curved, fullered blade is stamped with the ‘Eickhorn, Solingen Original’ makers mark and Squirrel trademark. The sword is complete with its original Officer’s bullion cord and portepee. The portepee is excellent, clean and undamaged. The cord is intact but does have areas of service wear consistent with age and use. The sword has its original black painted steel scabbard with single steel hanging ring and large shoe.
