Description

British No 7 MK 1 Swivelling Pommel Bayonet, Scabbard & Frog by Elkington. BAYO 291 - BAYO 291

This is an original No 7 Mk 1 bayonet with a 8” blade (12.25" overall). The bowie knife style blade is deeply fullered to both sides and is fitted with brown undamaged Tufnell grips. The blade is stamped on the ricasso No7 MK1 and on the other side M78 which is the code for Elkington. The swivelling pommel has M 78 (Elkington) stamped into it. The scabbard is a No 5 Mk2 type with a brass mouthpiece fitted. The scabbard is fitted with a white cloth frog. The bayonets swivelling and locking mechanism work correctly.
