Create my profile now!This very good C1870 double hammer percussion double rifle is in English form & is the type used for hunting large game. It has 29” round Damascus steel barrels and is 45 ¾” overall. The rifled barrels are 12 bore and have just staining and residue consistent with age and use. There are no visible external manufacturer marks on the rifle. The underside of the barrels have Victorian black powder proofs. The barrel rib is mounted with a fixed ‘v’ notch plate rear sight and 3 graduated leaf sights with aiming lines. It has a brass post fore sight. The action, Dolphin hammers, action tang & trigger guard with extended tang have quality tooled foliate decoration. The gun has double triggers. The cocking and firing actions are strong. The Walnut stock with figured cheek piece, chequered fore stock panels and wrist are undamaged with just light bumps and bruises to be expected. The fore stock has German silver mounts and there are silver roundel inserts at each breech. The weapon has its original wood ram rod with brass end caps. The price includes UK delivery.
