~ Circa 1800 Pair Of Richards Flintlock Pocket Pistols ~
Here we have an exquisite set of pistols with crisp steel, still showing its final treatment of the steel with crisp etchings and nicely finished wood.
These pistols were manufactured for personal protection and would often come as a matched pair.
This set was made by the gunsmith T. Richards has matching etchings with the name of the maker and foliate designs, it is also worth a mentioning that these pistols have some of the crispest proof marks I have ever seen.
The pair come in a walnut pistol box made for a Parker Field firearm without any accessories but the case is a collector's piece in itself.
~ Dimensions ~
Both pistols have the same length of 7.08 inches (18 cm).
The case is 10.2 inches (26 cm) by 7.08 inches (18 cm)
Overall it weighs 1.2 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The pistols are in great condition with some signs of wear.
The mechanisms are working for both, however, it seems to be tough to pull back due wear over time.
