This original WW1 era French lebel ammunition bandolier belt is very rare and in excellent condition. It has the correct 11 individual ammunition clip carrier pouches for Lebel rifle ammunition clips. The pouches have flaps covering loops to hold individual 3 round 8mm calibre clips. Each carrier has reinforced stitching together with a single brass stud to secure the flap covers. The bandolier is fitted with its original heavy duty buckle. The belt also has an integral frog loop with retaining strap and brass buckle for Lebel rifle bayonets. The frog is fitted with an original WW1 era French Model 1886 short bayonet. The bayonet correctly without hook quillon has a brass hilt and clean 13 ½” steel cruciform blade (18 ¼” overall). The blade has small ‘B’ & ‘G’ within roundel inspection marks and the hilt has the correct sprung muzzle catch. The hilt is numbered ‘P96122’. It's steel scabbard with fixed belt bar has its original black paint. The leather of the Bandolier is impressed with a manufacturer’s roundel which contains the name ‘L. Doyelle’ together with other indistinct lettering. The belt is “ ¾” at the widest section and 40” overall length. All leather and stitching are present & intact.
