George Wostenholm was a renowned Sheffield Cutler of the late 1700's to mid 1800's his Knife making dynasty and use of his I*XL trademark continued with his family producing knives under the name George Wostenholm & Son & George Wostenholm, into the 1970's when The I*XL trademark transferred to Egginton Bros Sheffield (see pages 295-303 of The Sheffield Knife Book By Tweedale). This is a Post 1900 Wostenholm, Sheffield, I*XL Folding Pocket Knife With Mother Of Pearl Scales. The knife has 3 single edged blades which are clean and have scalloped back edges (one 3", one 2 1/2" and one 2"). The large blade is crisply marked by the manufacturer 'I*XL George Wostenholm Sheffield England'. It has attractive Mother of Pearl scales with German Silver fittings and the spine of the knife is decoratively tooled. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 10788
