~ Georgian Bronze Signalling Cannon ~
Here we have a small bronze signaling cannon from the Georgian period, copying naval cannons that were being used on European naval ships circa 1800.
The cannon is a rather attractive with a nice bronze patina and a rather well made carriage, also in the style of cannons on the 1800's.
Signal cannons were manufactured in cannon foundries as scaled down versions simply with the objective of making a noise and being used to get the attention of other ships at sea.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel is 9 inches (23 cm) long.
The bore is .75 of an inch.
The cannon weighs 1.45 Kg
~ Condition ~
The cannon is in brilliant condition for its age with some cosmetic dents to the underside of the cannon.
The bronze has a beautiful patina that hasn't been disturbed.
The wooden carriage is in good shape and the iron fittings are secure and move well albeit having some oxidization.
~ Postage ~
UK postage is £25 or it can be inspected in person.
