Made in the the Nickelwerk Schwerte factory With the makers mark and size stamp NS62 and a batch No of E137 which is exactly correct, being one of the first helmets to use the 1938 dome and indeed the dome stamp is just about visible with the year of 1938 clear enough to see. It still retains the original parade finish Blue Green paint, national tricolour, and the Luftwaffe decal. The original liner is still fitted, but the chin strap is no longer in place. The Tricolour has retained about 90% of its detail and the Luftwaffe decal is showing only 20% with the wing outline, tail detail and swastika visible. The paintwork still has a gloss finish with mild scratches and pitting as would be expected. The liner has dried and discoloured over time as well as the string at the crown.
This helmet is guaranteed as genuine throughout.
