A Paul Giffard 4.5mm (.177 cal) Calibre CO2 Rifle
Serial number 4995.
Manufactured by ‘Francaise D’Armes St Etienne’ Circa 1870 -1900.
This rifle is good original condition with the engraving on the case hardened action clearly visible. This is also evident on the hammer and trigger guard.
The blueing on the barrel is in original condition it has faded with useage over time..
The cylinder is also good condition with serial number 1232 as these were exchangeable items they are often not in the same condition as the action and are very unlikely to have have the same serial number as the rifle. It unscrews from the action with no issues.
The action and loading bolt are operable the hammers cocks and releases the trigger correctly when it is operated with no issues.
The rifle is fitted with its correct adjustable ‘Swiss’ type rear sight and post front sight.
The stock is in good condition with no splits or cracks and the hand cut checkering is crisp and undamaged.
There are marks consistent with use but nothing serious.
It is fitted with a its correct ‘vulcanite’ butt plate which does have a small chip to the heel.
Factory sling loops are fitted onto the barrel & stock.
