The so-called 'Rising Sun' badge, worn on the up-turned brim of a slouch hat, typified the Spirit of ANZAC - the camaraderie of Australian soldiers to fight for the Crown and the British Empire. This is an original Second World War period 'Anzac Forces 9ct Gold sweetheart badge', depicting a rising sun with central Crown enhanced with red enamel, tri-part title scroll below 'Australian Commonwealth Military Forces' inlaid in blue, the reverse has an impressed 9ct Gold hallmark.
