C1790 British Henry Nock Flintlock Naval Pattern .700 Calibre Musket With Brass Furniture. Sn 16634 - 16634

Henry Nock (1741–1804) was a British inventor and engineer of the Napoleonic period, best known as a gunsmith. As well as supplying the military and civilian markets, Nock made expensive pieces for the aristocracy and Royalty and was an appointed gun maker to the King. Nock's business eventually became Wilkinson Sword. This is an original British Naval Pattern flintlock musket by Henry Nock. It is 43” overall length with a 27 ½” round steel barrel with block foresight and proof marks at the breech including Henry Nock’s ‘HN with Crown’ mark. Its smooth bore has staining and residue consistent with age & use. It has its original lock plate crisply signed ‘H. Nock’. It has regulation brass furniture and heavy military Swan neck hammer. It has all original walnut stock & iron ramrod. The top of the stock’s wrist is inset with a void brass roundel. The metal work has even patina throughout and it cocks and dry fires perfectly. The price for this Naval musket by a famous maker includes UK delivery. N.B As an antique flintlock musket no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. Sn 16634
