Founded in 1876 when the English Gunsmiths Harris Holland & Henry William Holland joined forces, Holland & Holland have been at the pinnacle of British gun making. This is an excellent Rook rifle in .380 Long Rifle Black Powder Centre Fire UK Obsolete Calibre. The 28 ¾” octagonal blued barrel has a near mint bore, bright & clean with crisp rifling (44 ¼” overall length). The underside of the barrel is numbered ‘4829 ‘ which dates its manufacture to 1878 & has London black powder proofs. The top barrel flat is signed by the makers ‘Holland & Holland 98 New Bond St London’. The action has crisp foliate tooled decoration. It has excellent all original Walnut woodwork with chequered panel fore stock, chequered panel pistol grip and steel butt plate with foliate decoration. It has a fixed ‘v’ notch plate rear sight with 2 additional folding leaves graduated 50-100-150 yards and blade fore sight. The Thomas Perkes patent (Patented 1878 No. 1968) under lever break action loading & firing actions work perfectly. The price includes UK delivery.
