Marquis of Lorne .32 Rimfire Five Shot Revolver
A nice .32 rimfire spur trigger pocket revolver, manufactured by the Hood Firearms Company, Connecticut, around the late 1870’s.
Measures approximately 6 + ¾ inches long with a 2 + 5/8 inch barrel.
Retains around 90% original nickel plating.
The mainspring is strong and this model holds in half and full cock.
There’s something wrong inside as the pawl doesn’t rise and rotate the cylinder. Needs a bit of fettling to get the cylinder to rotate. I’ve reflected this in the price.
There’s a small chip to the back of the right hand grip, doesn’t detract from the condition but I mention it because it’s there. I’ve shown in one of the photos.
Serial number: 3758, stamped on the cylinder, bottom of the barrel and on the frame, under the left hand grip.
All-in-all a very good example of a late 19th century small frame rimfire model and In original, un-messed about with condition, I hope my pictures tell the story.
I’ve tried to describe this revolver as honestly and as accurately as I can, if you have any questions, or if you’d like more photos please email me, only too happy to respond.
