This is an original 12/16th Hunter River Lancers badge issued to the Australian Army Reserve Light Armoured Regiment formed on the 1st May 1948. This regiment seaws its lineage from units originally formed in the 1880s. the regiment is currently a light cavalry scout unit and has in recent years seen service in Iraq and Afghanistan. This badge dates from the 1953 – 1960s period and carries the makers mark K.C. LUKE MELBOURNE stamped to the rear of the badge. The white metal badge has 2 lugs to the rear for securing the badge.
