WW1 1916 Dated Imperial German 1811 Pattern Prussian 'Blucher' Light Cavalry Sabre (British Pattern 1796) Regiment Marked ‘2.R.R.18.250’ & Scabbard. Sn 18244 - 18244

This is a German version of the British 1796 Light Cavalry Sabre used during the Napoleonic Wars. It was adopted by the Prussians as the 'Blucher’ or '1811 Pattern' Sabre. This original 'Blucher' Sabre is in excellent condition. It has a clean single edged, fullered 29 ¼” Sabre blade (35 ¼” overall). Its cross guard, knuckle guard, pommel and ribbed wood grips are in great undamaged condition. The back edge of the blade is stamped with inspection marks and 'W' (Willhelm) together with '16' (1916) date. The cross guard is Regiment marked ‘2.R.R.18.250’ and numbered ‘1920’. The Sabre is complete with its original black painted steel scabbard with hanging ring and fixed hanging bar. The scabbard has no dents.
