This is a Vietnam War Era, American old style WW2 issue M1 booby trap pressure firing fuze complete with its safety pin and original instruction plate which is fitted to a cylindrical fragmentation grenade body which is stamped round the fuze pocket 2 58 OL on its base y. In February 1942, Lt Erhardt of Fort Bodvoir, USA, produced a pressure switch. The switch was a copy of the proven and successful British No.2 pressure mark 1 switch introduced in 1941 and was modified to use the American thread. The M1 fuze switch retains most of its original olive green painted finish and I complete with its original safety pin and attached instruction plate. The fuze switch has an internal thread and is attached to a cylindrical hand grenade which retains its original black painted finish and is stamped 2 58 OL round the fuze pocket. The grenades body has fitted an alloy adaptor with a copper percussion cap in the alloy adaptor.
