INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a British naval WW2 (1945 dated) fuse for the 21 inch torpedo used exclusively by the ships and submarines of the Royal Navy. The fuse is made of nickel plated bronze. The bronze fuse has a curved front with a glass window and a bronze rotary arming vane. The front of the fuse is stamped 21” C.G.R.PISTOL Mk1** MOD1 also POINTER END FLUSH-DETS “OUT” DOWN- DETS “IN”. T.49IB B.E.8755 4-45 (April 1945 date). the front of the fuse is also stencilled in black 000 YDS S??. Inside the fuse are various gears and electrical connectors with wiring attached. There are two celluloid covers over the interior sides of the fuse. There is also a large 3 inch screwed hole at the rear of the fuse for holding the gain. This impressive fuse measures approximately 11 ½ x 9 ½ x 9 ½ inches.
