INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an Unfired early pattern British 2 inch medium mortor toffee apple trench mortor first introduced onto the trenches in mid-1915. The bomb is 9 inches in diameter but the projecting rod is 2 inches in diameter, hence the 2 inch designation referred to the diameter of the mortor tube. The mortor is complete with its original 2 inch detachable launching tube and brass transit plug. This round has been professionally repainted in the correct colours.
