This a German 20mm German 20 mm FFM (20x80) Armour Piercing Incendiary (API) aircraft cannon round fitted to various German aircraft during WW2, including the Me109, FW190,various night fighters and bomber aircraft. The brown lacquered steel cartridge case is percussion primed and the headstamp is wg (Hasag, Hugo Schneider AG, Altenburg plant) 3 k 43 (1943 date) waffenampt 54. The steel projectile has a sintered iron driving band which retains much of its original black finish with a 4mm high light blue band below the nose and a blue Ph (phosphorus incendiary) below the band. The projectile is stamped asb (Deutsche Waffen-u. Munitionsfabriken A.-G. Eichborndamm 107-127, Berlin - Borsigwalde, Germany) 1f 43 115g above the driving band. Both projectile and cartridge case have no cracks in the necks.
