INERT DEACTIVATED. This rare German WW2 four round steel transit container for the 5cm Pak38 (50 x 419R) high explosive round for the Panzer III tanks KwK39 /60 (5 cm Kampfwagenkanone 39 L60) gun, the SDKFZ 234/2 "Puma" Armoured Car and the Pak 39 towed anti-tank gun. The steel two piece ammunition container measured 63 x 19 x 19 cm and has a top mounted lid with two steel hinges and a locking clamp on the other side. The side of the container has a folding carrying handle. The container retains approximately 50% of its original green painted finesh and is stencilled in white on the side 5cm Sprgr. Patr.38Pak (5cm high explosive shell for the Pak387). The case has four staggered wooden partitions to hold the rounds vertically. The lid has a wooden keeper in the lid and a rubber seal fitted in it to waterproof the container. The lid has a hinged steel carrying handle. The container contains four brass washed steel wartime dated cartridge cases.
