INERT DEACTIVATED. This is a scarce Victorian pre 1898 12 bore Paradox 3 inch case length rounds made by Kynoch in England. After 1898, the word KYNOCH’S on the headstamp was changed to KYNOCH by removing the ‘S from Kynoch. The paradox was invented by Colonel Fosbery and patented in 1885. The patent was then assigned to Holland and Holland of Bond Street, London, who originally manufactured the round for their gun. The paradox patent was to rifle in the choke of a shotgun so that it would keep the pattern when used as a shotgun and give a small group when fired with the 740 grain Fosbery solid bullet. The round is headstamped KYNOCH’S PATENT No 12 on the solid drawn brass cartridge case and have a solid lead Fosbery type bullet in them. The price includes UK delivery and no licence is required to possess this inert round in the UK if retained as part of a collection or displays. There are 11 rounds available. Sn. 15664:1
