INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an excellent, original, 1915 dated WW1, Mills No 5 MK I, Hand Grenade. The internal primer holder is made of alloy. The fine knurled alloy base plug is stamped No 5 MK I W B (Westinghouse Brake Co. Ltd) 9/15 (September 1915 date). The grenade body is made of cast iron and has the correct fly off lever. The grenade has the correct earlier smaller pull ring on the split pin.
