INERT DEACTIVATED. This is an Unfired British 18 pounder incendiary round The projectile is stamped 18 Pr. II E.O.C.(Elswick Ordnance Company) 12.18. The round is fitted with a Rare No 44 mark III percussion fuse and is marked NO44 V.S.M (Vickers, Son and Maxim) R crowfoot L (Royal Laboratories) and retains its safety cap and safety wire to prevent the safety cap coming off accidentally. The cartridge is headstamped 18P II B.S.C. (Bethlehem Steel Company) 2407 CF (Cordite Full Charge) 11/16 (November 1916 date) and a crowfoot. The primer is stamped B.S.C. (Bethlehem Steel Company) 11/15 LOT 7411 No1 - II and a crowfoot . This round has been professionally repainted in the correct colours and has the correct stencilling applied.
