INERT DEACTIVATED. The U.S. 60 mm mortar was developed from the heavier 81 mm M1 Mortar to provide a lighter-weight alternative to company-level fire support. This is an excellent WW2 dated inert 60mm High Explosive 'HE' Mortar round. Its steel body, fins and original alloy impact fuse with sprung alloy cap are in excellent condition. The fins are intact with original paint. The body is clearly date stamped ‘1944’ together with original impressed model designation (illustrated). The casing is hollow.
