This deluxe Chef’s Santoku knife is handmade by Turwho from high grade Japanese VG-10 Damascus Steel, a professional and beautiful knife. A Santoku knife is slightly shorter and lighter than a Gyutou chef knife and a sheepsfoot blade that curves in an angle approaching 60 degrees at the point rather than the Gyutou’s pointed tip.
The blade is about as sharp as possible, making it a joy to prep food with, effortless cutting. The blades beautiful Damascus steel pattern is created by folding the steel over and over again, this knife has 67 layers of alternating steel.
The Japanese Santoku has a thin 2mm that is extremely tough, tempered to a hardness of HRC 60+2 (a very high rating). Japanese chef knives have a reputation for their lightweight and thin blade that maintains a long edge retention. The handle is made from a beautiful black G10, it is tripled riveted with a mosaic pin in the center. The handle is ergonomic and designed for precision cutting not just its stunning looks.
I would describe the Turwho Japanese Damascus kitchen knives as exquisite, professional performance, finely crafted and a pleasure to use.
