This is an original WW2 Japanese Officer's Sword with signed tang and rae aluminium scabbard. It has a 26 ¼” clean blade with no damage, good polish and lovely deep wave hamon. The tang is signed with crisp Japanese script characters ‘Noshu Ju Tsuka Ko Kane Masa Kin Saku’ and post 1939 WW2 era Seki Arsenal mark. The signature translates as ‘Respectfully made by Tsuka Ko Kane Masa living in Noshu Province (see Fuller & Gregory Page 167 List No. 273). The dark khaki binding over the fish skin handle is complete and intact. Its heavy steel tsuba & all fittings including floral menuki are original, correct and present. The pommel of the sword is fitted with lanyard ring and original cord with tassel ends. The sword is complete with its rare aluminium scabbard with ornate copper throat mount and single hanging ring.
