On Auction : Authentic and very difficult to obtain, kamikaze pilot sword Japanese, Katana Wakizashi of the Japanese Army Aviation Officer during World War II, these swords were highly coveted at the end of the war especially by American Air Force officers as they belonged to pilots who gave their lives during battle to strike hard blows to wave allied fleet in the pacific ocean, this sword was purchased from an American auction house from an American officer who brought it home after the war with corresponding authorisation from the military authorisation department, sword in very good condition, You can see a beautiful hamon midare gunome from the Soshu Kamakura school, a very sharp sword from the Muromachi period (1392 to 1572), the koshirae mounts a military order Saya covered with the typical skin of wild pigs (Taitetu) to avoid static Corrientes in the aircraft cabin during the war, the traditional ito-lined tsuka is presented with great beauty and a Tsuba of good size and rude use typical in combat, the blade in very good shape (munei) is an excellent and attractive piece, solid, heavy and very well balanced, I am sure it is an excellent and rare Japanese collector's sword.Measurements:Total length: 79 cmWeight: 1.6 kgPD: Please review the photographs for minor scratches and dings from combat use and age....Read full description
