~ Late 19th Century Imperial German Officer’s Rapier ~
This is a parade piece for a German Officer.
The rapier has a fullered blade decorated with arms and armour surrounded by foliage etchings.
The brass hilt is made of decorated brass with a carved horn grip.
The blade is stamped with the manufacturer’s name which is partially visible ‘L(?) R(..)BRECHT, Hoelieferayt, Berlin’.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade length is 33.05 inches (84 cm) and the overall length of the piece is 38 inches (96.5 cm).
It weighs 570 grams.
~ Condition ~
The sword is in very good condition for its age.
The etchings are clearly visible and the blade is damage free.
The hand guard is a bit wobbly.
