~ Late 19th Early 20th Century Asian Short Sword ~
Here we have a curious little piece, it is a short sword or long knife set in a hardwood handle with a white metal sheath and white metal section on the grip.
The blade is a double fuller and is single edged, ending in a spear point, the blade looks to be forged by hand and it has a filed polish.
What sets this piece apart is the sheath, it is all white metal with a wooden core. The sheath has been incredibly worked into the image of an Asian dragon, the work is uneven and not measured so done most likely freehand, making this a small work of art.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade is 17 inches (43 cm) long.
The sword is 22 inches (56 cm) long.
The sword weighs 750g.
~ Condition ~
The sword is in good condition for its age and manufacture, there are some cosmetic dents to the sheath to be expected with soft metal.
The white metal section at the base of the blade is loose.
The wooden grip is in good condition.
~ Postage ~
UK postage is £20 or it can be inspected in our shop.
