~ Mid 18th Century Silver Hilted Dated English Small Sword ~
The slender tapering steel blade is of full hollow ground triangular cross section.
The grip has been bound with silver ribbon and twisted wire. The decorated dish guard is loosely attached to the circular finger & thumb guards.
A globular pommel sits upon the grip with a small button protruding from the top.
The hilt and the hollow grind of this blade show that this sword was a one of a kind and expensive piece, the like of which would have graced the hip of royalty or the aristocracy.

The blade has a length of 33.5 inches (85.1 cm).
The sword has an overall length of 39.7 inches (100.8 cm).
~ Condition ~
The blade is in very good order with some darkened oxide. The etchings remain clear. The grip and hilt are in very good condition with minor wear.
