~ Modern Japanese Katana Sword ~
This is a modern katana used for training purposes, it will only be sold to registered martial artists or reactors.
Its exterior look resembles a traditional samurai sword.
The blade is made of chromed steel but is not sharp as a genuine katana would be and is slightly heavier than a genuine blade.
Even so, is a good example and can be used by anyone who would like to practice martial arts.
The blade is made in the ‘shinogi-kukuri’ pattern.
Its mune (blade back) is shaped in the 'Ihori' style and its kissaki (point) is ‘chu’ (medium).
A factory made straight hammon can be seen on the blade and tip.
The swords fittings are made of steel, brass and copper.
The habaki (blade locket/ferrule) is made of gilded brass.
The black painted tsuba (guard) is made of steel.
The kashira (pommel/buttcap) is decorated with a samurai warrior.
There are two gilded copper seppas (spacer), one of each side of the tsuba.
The fushi (sleeve) is made of steel decorated with inlays representing a samurai mask and its paper signalling flags.
The tsuka (grip) is made of bamboo covered with white shagreen and dark brown coloured woven silk.
The menuki (ornaments) are in the form of plant branches with flowers and leaves.
The scabbard is made of black painted bamboo and comes with its knob.
