This is an excellent WW1, 1916 dated example of the Pattern 1907 British bayonet for the SMLE rifle complete with leather scabbard. The ricasso of the bayonet is stamped with a Crown and "GR" and by the manufacturer Mole and "11 16" (November 1916) along with "1907". Mole is a rare maker with only 60,000 bayonets made by 1917, with Wilkinson Sword making 2,360,000. On the reverse is stamped with inspection marks and an "X" along with the War Department 'Crows Foot'. The blade is in very clean condition and it's slab wood grips are undamaged and perfectly secure. Both grips are stamped with inspection marks. The pommel has the push button release which operates smoothly. The steel pommel has the hole drilled just below the release button, the hole was drilled right through the pommel to pass through the locking slot. This idea was to release accumulated dirt in the groove which allowed the bayonet to lock onto the rifle. This dates the bayonet after 1916. It is complete with a nice original steel mounted leather scabbard which is stamped on the throat with "161". All stitching of the scabbard is intact. Price for this excellent WW1 rare maker bayonet complete with scabbard includes UK delivery. Sn 10818
