MUSEUM QUALITY, Framed Original WW1 1914 – 1918 Imperial German Iron Cross 1st Class With Ribbon Bar, Prussian Infantry Pickelhaube Helmet Plate & Period Crossed Miniature Military Swords With Scabbards. Sn 15122:7 - 15122:7

This excellent WW1 collection is as found mounted on a Prussian black velvet background which has bullion tape edging and has a glazed dark wood frame, the back of the frame has hooks which can be easily released to allow access to the individual pieces. The collection consists of an Imperial German Iron Cross 1st Class with correct pin mount to the rear, Ribbon Bar with white metal mount, Prussian Infantry white metal Pickelhaube helmet Plate above white metal numbers forming the dates 1914 & 1918. The centre of the display has decorative faux green and silvered sprigs of Oak leaves with acorns alongside a pair of individual superb crossed miniature Imperial German Officer’s swords with gilt voided bowl guards & bullion wire representing Officer’s cords. The swords are tethered to the back board by gold coloured cord. One of the sword’s guards has the cast form of the Prussian Eagle. The swords have polished steel blades and are removable from their scabbards (the sword with the Eagle hilt is secured to the back board by a small cord at the hilt which could be removed to allow removal of the blade should the next owner wish to do so). The white metal scabbards are undamaged with no dents. Both scabbards have hanging rings. The swords each measure 9 ¾” in length in their scabbards. The frame measures 18” x 15” x 2 ½”.
