This excellent WW1 collection is as found mounted on a Prussian black velvet background which has bullion tape edging and has a glazed dark wood frame, the back of the frame has hooks which can be easily released to allow access to the individual pieces. The collection consists of an Imperial German Iron Cross 2nd Class with ribbon, Prussian Infantry white metal Pickelhaube helmet Plate above white metal numbers forming the dates 1915 & 1919. The centre of the display has decorative faux green and silvered sprigs of Oak leaves with acorns alongside a pair of individual superb crossed miniature Imperial German Officer’s swords with gilt voided bowl guards & bullion wire representing Officer’s cords. The swords are tethered to the back board by gold coloured cord which secures the sword blades in their scabbards. The sword’s bowl guards each have cast foliate decoration. The white metal scabbards are undamaged with no dents. Both scabbards have hanging rings. The swords each measure 9 ¾” in length in their scabbards. The frame measures 18” x 15” x 2 ½”.
