Description

~ Pair Of Trench Art Daggers, Dated 1914, Siege Of Namur ~

Here we have a delightful pair of trench art daggers made from shell fragments.

The pair have been made as a full length dagger and a small punch dagger. They are made from shell fragments and they have been ground down to make crude daggers leaving the remainder of the shell scraps as the grip.

Both pieces appear to have been manufactured by using stock removal techniques creating a ricasso and a double edged dagger.

Both pieces are crudely stamped in numerous places with ‘Namur 1914’ and also a clearer factory mark of the Licot, Namur company, A blade and razor company in the Southern French speaking area of Belgium.

~ Dimensions ~

The larger blade is 8 inches (20 cm) to the ricasso.

The larger dagger is 16 inches (40 cm) long.

The larger dagger weighs 465 g.

The smaller blade is 3.5 inches (9 cm) long.

The smaller dagger is 7 inches (18 cm) long.

The smaller dagger weighs 160 g.

~ Condition ~

The pair are in a good condition for their age with some blackening to the blade.

~ Postage ~

UK postage is £15, international at cost and it can be viewed in our shop.
