Since the Roman Empire Tridents have been used by many countries throughout the world including Persia, Cina, Korea, Japan Java & India. This is an attractive, rare to find Trident spear head made in Persia before or during the Victorian era. A Persian Trident almost identical to ours is illustrated on page 629 Fig. 800:1 of Stone’s book A Glossary Of The Construction, Decoration & Use Of Arms & Armour. The iron Trident head measures 20” overall length.It has 2 splayed kris form blades either side of a 9” spear point blade. The trident has ornate foliate tooled decoration to the bottom edge of both sides of each blade and the trident shank.
