The Pallad (also known as the wz. 1974) is a 40 mm Polish underslung rifled grenade launcher, developed for use with the AKM assault-rifle and intended to replace the kbkg wz. 1960 grenade-launcher rifle. The name of the weapon reflects the Polish-language word for palladium. This is a Pallad underslung grenade launcher for the AKM assault rifle firing a 40 x 47 mm grenade. The launcher is of steel construction with a swing up breech a with a, activation bolt on the left with a working ejector. The sighting quadrant is fitted to the left hand side. The launcher is mounted under the front of the AKM rifle and when mounted, the breech tilts down for loading. The launcher is in excellent condition, retaining most of its original black finish. The breech opens and swings down. The safety catch operates and the sight quadrant moves. The AKM in the photograph is not included in the sale.
